The final round of webisodes in this year's Storyland competition have gone online. Fans can finally find out what happens to Dirk, Concy and Robbie in the last instalments from THE LAST SECURITY MAN, THE OUTLAW CONCY RYAN and LUCKY RUN. And the public will once again decide which of these three finalists they want to see crowned the overall winner of the RTÉ drama competition.
Now in its third year Storyland is an online drama competition which offers new talent the opportunity to develop a drama series online. Previous winners include The Hardy Bucks in 2009 and Zombie Bashers in 2010. Over the last three months eight shortlisted dramas have battled it out episode-by-episode with the public voting for which dramas they wanted to be given the opportunity to make subsequent episodes.
The finalists include LUCKY RUN, a drama set in Tuam, County Galway. Robbie Dolan (Donal O'Meachair) enjoyed a life without consequences until his most recent chemical indulgence left him fumbling in the darkest crevices of his home town. Now he's got 48 hours to repay €5,000 to a finger-chopping gangster and prevent his train-wreck of a life from steamrolling into the fireworks factory. In the final episode Robbie's attempt to avoid arrest and escape the blackmail trap is derailed, as it seems that once again Danger Kennedy (Fred McCloskey) has all the aces.
Meanwhile in THE OUTLAW CONCY RYAN, Concy and his family continue their battle to prevent the rejuvenation of Limerick's Moyhill area going ahead. As pressure mounts from the Gardai, the media and Will O'Dea to vacate the area, will Concy be able to pull it out of the bag, save his home and protect his way of life with Geronimo?
Finally Dirk and Tommy are on the run in the final instalment of THE LAST SECURITY MAN, a dark comedy about the unlikely friendship between a college drop-out and a psychotic Belgian security guard. As the noose tightens, Dirk and Tommy hole up in Bettystown. But with the law on their tail will Dirk clear his name? And will Tommy stand by him?
All three dramas are available to view on http://www.rte.ie/storyland/index.html and voting will take place until Tuesday 31 of May at 2pm. The overall competition winner will be announced on Wednesday 1 June. Information on all of the productions is available on www.rte.ie/storyland
