Course Profile:
Following the success in Galway in June, the Engine Room Pitch Workshop will be coming to Cork for the first time in November. The Engine Room Pitch Workshop is a unique 2 day project development and pitching experience for documentary/factual filmmakers and producers seeking Irish and international commissions and market intelligence. It is also an exceptional networking opportunity. Created by leading international pitch trainer Christina Burnett of Wide Eye Pictures, the format has been successful in the UK, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. This year’s BBC Storyville/Sundance hit Knuckle, Tanya Doyle’s multi-awarded The House and the IFB funded Showrunners, and A Childish Place were all developed through an ERPW.

“A perfectly focused workshop that helps even the most unorganised thinkers find clarity and direction with their ideas. It is essential learning for anyone who wants to find the heart of their proposal and the words to convince others to invest in it.” Conor O ‘Mahony, IFTA winner- Dublin ERPW
“ The most constructive two days training I’ve ever spent… nobody who seriously wants to make documentaries should miss it.” Ciara Hyland, Forefront – Galway ERPW
“It was an amazing couple of days: Game changing and Life Changing!” Jarlath Rice - Galway ERPW
Intense, friendly and focused, the Engine Room Pitch

The workshop develops real projects and trailers, which are then presented to commissioners from RTE and TG4, for feedback. Delegates range from IFTA and Emmy winners to first-timers and the structure enables delegates at any stage of their career to understand what makes a project succeed and to maximise their own opportunities in future.

“The Engine Room Pitch Workshop is a must-do for every filmmaker looking to pitch into the marketplace. Practical and inspiring, it makes you think about, and present, your film in the best possible way”. Sandra Whipham, former Commissioning Editor True Stories, Channel 4
