Play / Record Screening and Reception

Glucksman Gallery, 4.30, Wednesday December 15th

Play / Record is a collaborative programme that invites young people to work with professional artists and musicians in developing video and sound art projects. Play / Record consists of Aaron Carroll. Megan Cronin, Niamh Forde, Roisin O'Donovan and Robert O'Sullivan.

This event premieres the short films and soundtracks developed throughout a series of workshops that took place in 2010 at the Glucksman. The screening will include their new short film Amnesia.

Play / Record sessions included discussions on the visual representation of music, screenings, practical tutorials on animation, film and sound production and exercises in field recording, musical improvisation and experimental filmmaking. Tutorials and workshops were led by artists and filmmakers including Sinead Cliffe, Mark Hall-Patch, Neil Hurley, Max Le Cain, Danny McCarthy and Mick O'Shea. The Glucksman is very pleased to invite all members of the public to this special screening and the launch of their first DVD.

Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland Young Ensembles Scheme, Cork Film Centre and the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, University College Cork.
