The Meet The Filmmakers series continues at 2 p.m. on Saturday 4th December with acclaimed director, Shimmy Marcus.
(There is no charge for entrance to the talk, but, due to limited space, booking is essential)
BIOGRAPHY:
Shimmy Marcus is a multi award winning filmmaker working in a variety
of formats. In 1999 he won the Miramax Script Writing Award for his
feature script Headrush which he also directed and went on to
win a variety of International awards. The son of twice Oscar Nominated
documentary filmmaker Louis Marcus, Shimmy's critically acclaimed
Feature Documentary Aidan Walsh - Master of the Universe became the first Irish Documentary made on Video to receive Theatrical
and Video distribution. More awards followed for his short films and
contribution to the feature Documentary Imagining Ulysses.
He continues to work with various formats and styles including
Corporate, TV Drama, Commercias, and has created many innovative music
promos for bands including Fun Lovin' Criminals, Snow Patrol, Gavin
Friday, Skin (Skunk Ananasie), and Republic of Loose.
Shimmy is currently touring his second feature Souled Out (Martin Compston, Felicity Jones, Pat Shortt) around the European Festival circuit, while developing a raft of new feature scripts.
