GET FESTIVAL FIT: Galway Film Centre Workshop
What kind of films work. What is required.
Get Festival Fit
This day long workshop will examine both the creative and technical aspects of entering your film into film festivals. This workshop will hopefully give filmmakers a better understanding of what kind of films work well within the festival circuit. The first half of the day will examine what is required to enter a festival. The second half of the day will look at what a festival wants from a film and how a jury makes decisions. Examples of work will be looked at throughout the day.
About The Tutor: For the last four years, Adele Smyth has been the Competition Manager for the Foyle Film Festival one of the few Academy boosting festivals in the world and the only one in Ireland. Over this time, she has worked exclusively with organisations such as withoutabox.com, BAFTA and the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. Adele has dedicated a lot of time and research into film festival entry and hopes that participants in her new series of workshops find that with some guidance film festival entry is not as difficult as it might seem.
