GALWAY FILM FLEADH PITCHING AWARD
€3,000 prize - Deadline for submissions: 18th June 2010
GALWAY FILM FLEADH PITCHING AWARD
Deadline for submissions: 18th June 2010
The rules for entry are simple. Applicants write and submit a 500-word story idea for screen. All received applications are read by a panel selected from the film industry - and the best five are shortlisted. The five writers are contacted and invited to present their pitch to a panel of judges. This takes place in front of an audience during the Galway Film Fleadh. The Galway Film Fleadh presents the winner with a cheque for €3,000 but the true successes of this venture are multifarious. The invitation to write your idea in 500 words inspires so many people, many with no experience of the film industry who have long harboured an ambition to sit and write their idea down. For many writers, it has afforded them an opportunity to practice the craft of pitching. For those selected, it is a golden opportunity: to
communicate their story, to bolster their confidence and their first opportunity to win the crowd. As for the winner, the prize can afford them the time to develop and expand their pitch into a full feature film script.
So get writing………….!
The deadline for applications is Friday 18th June 2010 and further details are available on our website www.galwayfilmfleadh.com
