Fort Camden Artists' Comissions
Cork County Council invites outline proposals from artists for a series of commissions relating to Fort Camden in County Cork.
This site is widely regarded as an outstanding example of 19th century coastal fortification and is located near the village of Crosshaven overlooking the entrance to Cork Harbour.
The Fort Camden Artistic Programme forms part of a developing strategy to raise public awareness about this fortification. The programme aims to realize up to five artist led projects that will be directly inspired by the architecture, environment and/or history of the site.
This commission is open to artists working in all artforms. A broad range of proposals are encouraged such as site-specific, permanent or temporary work. Ideas for time-based work, performance and other interventions are also welcomed
This project will be of interest to
• Creative Artists of all disciplines whose work addresses or engages with the natural/built environment.
• Creative Artists whose work may engage with the military and social history of this site.
Each commission will have a maximum budget of €10,000
