Alex Joyce's TOGETHER WE SURF Triskel Screening
Made as part of the 2011 Cork Film Centre Filmmaker Mentoring programme, Alex Joyce's documentary will receive its premiere on February 10th.
Irish Premiere of 'Together We Surf', a documentary film by Alex Joyce about surfing and volunteering with the kids of Mision Mexico orphanage. Soundtrack by Remma, Chelsea Crowell and Neil McGrath. All in aid of Mision Mexico.
The music on the night will be provided by Mr. Tony McLoughlin and Ms. Lynda Cullen. Will have pre-screening drinks at 7.30pm and film starts at 8pm. Ticket price is €10, all proceeds to Mision Mexico.
Surf Instructor, Alex Joyce sets out in search of a more meaningful existence to work as a volunteer. Destiny brings him to the Mision Mexico Refuge, an orphanage dedicated to the welfare of Mexican street children, which employs a programme to rehabilitate the kids through surfing. Though the memories of troubled pasts endure, the kids find an outlet to be liberated through surfing; it breathes hope into their lives and futures. Surfing also strengthens the bond between Alex and the kids, transforming their lives.
